A Great Day In Hollywood or A Great Spin On A PR Nightmare?

A few days ago i saw that beautiful image shot by Kwaku AlstonA Great Day In Hollywood‘, that’s floating around melanin feeds everywhere.

I’m thinking, Netflix is really handling their business and supporting the culture.

I mean, sure it didn’t hurt when melanin energy established the popular “Netflix and Chill” moniker which contributed to countless sales and free advertising courtesy of millennial’s everywhere.

Surely they are advancing in creative relationship, because of respect for melanin contributions right?

Then the adverts started with the lil homie and all..

and I was still good.

The visuals are on point plus the classic nod to “A Great Day In Harlem” by Art Kane was a nice touch.   New York Stories: Great Day In Harlem

I always wondered who everyone was in that photo…

Here’s a lil video about that day…

Then of course, there was the classic XXL spread that showcased a unified rap community.

And then I remember reading about the CEO being fired for being excessive with the ‘N-word‘.  Damn Homie…

In the end, Jonathan Friedland’s inner gangsta got the best of him.

Now sure his bank account was secured by Netflix after the departure (it’s apart of an early departure clause),  the company still had to quickly react with a counter blow to balance the talk on social platforms… curses to those who say, a random coincidence.

I mean, aint no better to cast a shadow on ‘Black Twitter‘ than to have Black Hollywood sing ‘Lift Every Voice‘ on the streets of NY.

Even though the hype is dope. Gotta love seeing all those faces and energy.

Roseanne Barred

The above statement started her shows downfall.

Ingest the words and full “L” that Roseanne Barr took when she posted this at 2:45am – May 29, 2018 and decide for yourself if the self proclaimed joke was indeed a mere pun towards former 6 advisor Valerie Jarrett who is African American.

Here’s her response to the ordeal.

I think we have to turn it into a teaching moment,Jarrett said. “I’m fine. I’m worried about all the people out there who don’t have a circle of friends and followers who come right to their defense. The person who is walking down the street minding their own business and they see somebody cling to their purse, or run across the street, or every black parent I know who has a boy who has to sit down and have a conversation — the talk — as we call it. As you say, those ordinary examples of racism that happen every single day.”

Take a moment and think of this racist fueled wit, as Barr figuratively, “shoulder brushes” the tweet.

She misunderstood the power of social media and corporations recent stance when it comes to provocative subject matters, even when it pertains to humor.

Before this, the Roseanne reboot was commercially viable, averaging close to 20 million viewers tuning in to the sassy working class mother.

It was renewed for season 2 and the actors enjoyed a revived career with young viewers who were new to the aged comic, but related to it’s quick wit, raw banter and the social buzz.

We also know she had a plug from “Mr Make America Great Again“, that didn’t hurt her Nielsen ratings.

Surely the network and producers were celebrating the controversial endorsement, till she fucked up and dropped that bomb. Here is the tweet again in slo mo my peoples…

A hard pill to swallow.  Even in these times when oh so much, is said, oh so carelessly without retaliation.

How will this tale ensue?

Well consulting producer Wanda Sykes, decides to discontinue her relationship with the show along with others making a strong unified statement to the industry and the studio heads that didn’t go unheard.

Few days later, this was announced…

Then the ABC Network President Channing Dungey said “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”

Not long after, just when you thought you heard it all.  Roseanne tried to hoodwink the public blaming her racial outburst on the pharmaceutical drug Ambien, leaving everyone more puzzled at the odd finger point.

Sanofi, the makers of Ambien appropriately fired shots back stating “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”

Damn, they clapped back in the most refined way.  Talk about tongue in cheek.

Yea… Karma is a bitch. Barr’s inside must be like
But we’re here to state the scenario and allow you to draw your own conclusion based on innate feelings and not our overly dramatic words.

We say, “You should know better Roseanne Barr, curses for the words.  Forgive may occur in time, but we’ll never forget.

What do you say?

Does Donald Trump Understand the Difference?

Sure does sound like he know the difference here.  Look at him throwing shade disguised as jokes at Hilary Clinton during this charity of all things lmao…

Now check the tweet below and you would still think he was cool and shxt.

Did you notice he called Sony cowards for not releasing the film “The Interview“.  It’s a ridiculous comedy starring Seth Rogan & James Franco.  Their satirical approach which plays on assassinating the President of North Korea Kim Jong Un, caused a political and technological wrath of attacks.

Those attacks were brought on by North Korea as retaliation.  They allegedly (confirmed) hacked Sony servers and released some pretty damaging info. on the company and it’s executives (read this Times article for more hack details after reading this post of course).

The point here is that he called Sony gutless for not sticking by their First Amendment right for Freedom of Expression and Association.

Think about it, he’s basically calling them ‘Suckers‘ for giving in.  An interesting and hypocritical standpoint for the Republican… #factsonly

Snoop Dogg’s New Track with Clown Faced Trump

I’m digging the video personally, we don’t see musicians taking aggressive political stances publicly.

It was a bold move for Snoop given his celebrity stature.  The clown faces is not racist as some blogs might inaccurately say, it’s the movements of the politicians which are clown like.  The alternative facts and spin that they weave our minds into which the directors creatively envision as clown faces (not completely unheard of as clowns and politicians have a long history).

It’s the pseudo face that they (politicians) wear when they speak to the citizens and the recognition or awakening of the motives.  The Harley Quinn feature in my mind can symbolize anarchy or that which could result from the constant mistruths from all levels of government and media.

Another salute to Jesse Wellens and James Defina for the vision and guts to go ahead with it.  The other tricky part is Snoop can’t (or can i’m not sure as it can be alternative facts used to incriminate him) be legally held accountable being that it could have been apart of a script and that the blame would fall on the video’s director/producer but i’m not over here snitching on nada my bruh’dah.

I can say it’s one the best songs that I heard from the Dog Father in a minute, salute to that.

The Godfather – One of Trumps Favorite Movies

Does it make since that a person who loves a movie as violent and politically corrupt as The Godfather, would openly chastise an entertainer (Snoop Dogg) about freedom of expression, when it’s a position he’s supported and used himself on many occasions.

Just makes you go hmmm…

Screen Shot 2017-03-15 at 11.28.23 PM.png

Well, it would seem that he’s all in his feelings when a popular entertainer has anything bad to say because it deflects attention from his false flagged agendas.

And that’s pretty sad, because he used to be able to talk a joke like a champ.  What happened to that tough skin Don?

Well we are sure there are more things for a President to focus on during their first 100 Days in office then a Snoop Dogg single.

Now if that was Doggystyle 2, it would have made more sense, but nah B, it was just a dope single that now will probably make him at least a million of the free promotion and tweet… Checkmate Uncle Snoop, Biatch!

It could have been worse though, then the concern over his life would have been validated. Remember CNN did that piece on if Trump was assassinated.  It wasn’t as visual as D.O. double Gee holding a toy gun to the President in clown face but it was just as cynical if the government really looked at it… check it out now:

They practically subliminally embedded light thoughts in the minds of hundred’s of thousands if not millions that there is a chance for Obama’s influence to remain at the helm.

Now some may be like your reaching, well not really, and if I was did he also reach by bringing attention to what could have been an easy blow off.

Share ya thoughts… the track though is banging! – Mr Kuyateh
