Bio: Gibril Kuyateh aka GiKu is a former hip hop/house dancer and a Brooklyn based dj/producer from Sierra Leone. His taste is all over but really specializes in rooted world sounds, hip hop, deep soulful house, jazz and soulful eclectics. He founded the indie label GiKu Music and is a strong advocate for indie music and artist advancement. When not mixing dope music like its crack, he can be found in his studio, around NYC shooting videos/photos or writing about music art and technology for dope online music sites. Catch him on Brooklyn Radio! TECH EXPERIENCE: A self professed tech/gadget lover prompted him to attend IT school in New York enroute to an A+ certification (passed 801 soon taking 802). He's worked for Microsoft as a Windows Phone 7 trainer, Apple iTunes regional merchandiser, Market Manager MetroPCS and managed NYC wireless brand campaign initiatives for Safelink Wireless. MUSIC EXPERIENCE: Creator, Host and DJ of The GiKu Experience Radioshow in Brooklyn began in Jan. 2008 on Giant Steps jukebox * the respected media, events, marketing company helped launch the career of Jill Scott, Sade resurgence, released Donnie's first album, released Gilles Peterson "Incredible" and the list goes on... Its become a popular show on Brooklyn Radioshow, consistently hitting the top 5 listened to shows on Mixcloud.
